It’s always been a dream of mine to have an amazing bathroom.
I spend a lot of time in the bathroom (no, not doing that) and taking a bath is my cure for everything. No joke, I probably take a bath at least 3 times a week. Not only do I want a bathroom that’s amazing, but I’ll admit, over the top and luxurious just because!
When we got the news that our offer was accepted, Titus says to me, “I’m going to give you your dream bathroom. That’s always been my dream.”
Awwww. What a keeper, right?
Though truthfully it will probably be years until we get to this because it will be very pricey. It’s not just decorating, but tearing out the shower and bumping out walls to make room for a tub. As well as some crazy updating. And we all know that I have champagne taste on a beer budget!
So I’m giving him the ideas and inspiration, and he’s going to make it happen. Logistics and technical words bore me, so I told him he can just keep all that to myself and surprise me. But when it comes to the reveal I’ll let you know what he did haha.
Wants/needs/desires
- big marble top vanity with storage for all my beauty & body products as well as enough room around the sink to put my makeup case as I’m doing my makeup (I’m very specific now because this is not my first home haha)
- freestanding tub with the ability to shower
- toilet not right next to the bathtub so I don’t have to stare at it
- Electric fireplace
- Chandelier
- marble everywhere!
- room for an armoire
And now this is what we’re working with!
Far cry from my inspiration. But the toilet is already on the other side of the showering area which is nice. Less plumbing! There’s only a stand-up shower here, so we are going to take from the bathroom on the other side to make room for a tub. And of course, the wallpaper, carpet, and outdated finishes have got to go!
and this is where we hope to get!
Obviously I don’t expect Pinterest to come to real life haha, but that inspo board sums up the feel I want the bathroom to have- luxe yet relaxing. Like you could just lean back and drift off to sleep, but also do an impromptu editorial shoot in there too haha. #thatsme
Some things we want to get to right away (like the living room), some things we want to wait and see how we use the space first (like the kitchen), and some things will just have to be done over time as budget allows (like putting hardwood floors on the main floor), but I’m excited for it all and making this house our home!
I hope to be able to check in soon with bathroom updates! But let’s be real, talk to you in a couple years haha!
