If you’re one of those people that freeze as soon as the camera comes out because you’re not sure how to pose or you just want to up your photo game…then this post is for you! I’ve been on both sides of the camera and I’ve picked up some tips on how to put some life into your pose which in turn puts some life into your photos! Fashion bloggers are always having to take pictures of themselves to properly show off their outfits, so it makes sense that fashion bloggers have a go-to set of poses to make their outfits and photos look good! Here are 15 examples of how to pose like a fashion blogger!
How to Pose Like a Fashion Blogger | 15 Tips + Tricks
1. Touch your accessory
This pose is nice and easy because it takes away the dreaded “what do I do with my hands?” moment. Whether it’s a hat, necklace, or sunglasses, just mess with what you have!
2. Play with your hair
This is a classic one…but it doesn’t fail!
3. Look away
Not much more to say here. Looking off in the distance gives your photo an easy and nonchalant vibe.
4. Take out your phone
This pose looks like you just got snapped going about your normal day. Paparazzi style.
5. Move your arms
Even if it feels weird. It can be even weirder to have them just limp at your side. You can do this by playing with your hair, bending your arms, or lifting up your elbow.
6. Cross your legs
It’s simple, but it adds just a little bit more interest to your body, outfit, and photo.
7. Body straight to camera
To keep it from looking like a mug shot, put more weight on one side and pop the hip out a bit.
8. Keep moving/ fix your outfit
The end product looks very natural and casual. Just keep moving your body and have your photographer snap away. Spin, play with your skirt, make minor adjustments to your outfit, etc.
9. Hands in your pocket
By putting your hands in your pocket you look casual and cool. Feel free to even bend your leg too.
10. Walk
Don’t fake walk in slow motion and pose between each step, but walk for real and have your photographer just keep snapping. You’ll get photos that will look more realistic this way…even if you have a lot more to delete at the end! 😉 Alternate between looking at the camera, looking away, laughing, etc.
11. Put one leg in front of the other
This is a great and easy go-to. If you want to elongate your legs lift up your heel and put your weight on your toes.
12. Side angle, one foot in front of the other
This pose is very flattering. Putting your body to the side slims your waist and putting one leg out elongates your body.
13. Add a prop
Feeling bored with your photo? Add an iced coffee, flowers, or sunglasses to jazz up your photo a little!
14. Pop out your knee
This is an easy alternative to just standing there.
15. Squat/sit
In need of a totally different pose? Squatting or sitting is a great way to switch it up.
Now hopefully with these tips you don’t have to feel awkward when it’s picture time! If you’re in need of a good laugh, check out the spoof of this post here! 😉
