Would you believe this outfit is thrifted? Well, if you read the title then you would 😉 Lately I’ve been doing some Goodwill challenges for fun and to challenge my styling ability. I also wanted to show that it’s possible to put together chic looks everywhere…you might just have to do a little searching and experimenting. Here are my chic Goodwill finds and the outfit I put together!
My Chic Summer Goodwill Finds
For this post, I was going for a chic summer vacation look with pieces that I could wear again. Because you know that’s what I’m all about.

I’ve seen white cropped flare pants everywhere lately, so I thought they’d be a great staple for this look.

I paired it with a striped shirt because no matter where you get it from, stripes will always be a classic. And they look great in summer. This blazer is linen which I also believe is a staple for this season!
The shoes just had that summer European vibe that I thought complemented the look. However, the bag (oh and the sunglasses) were not a Goodwill find. Though I’ve seen a lot of straw type bags there! Trends always come back around and when styles like vintage and 80’s come back there’s always a surplus of “trends” you can find at thrift stores. So there’s your tip for the day! If you want to try out a trend and barely pay anything for it, check out a thrift store first (though, sidenote, thrift stores are getting more expensive lately I’ve been noticing and sometimes it does make more sense to buy new).
All in all, it was a fun time putting together this outfit and I liked the end result. I enjoyed finding some gold nuggets amongst the not so great nuggets 😉
You can’t shop this exact look (besides the bag) but here are some similar pieces to recreate this look:
-sunglasses-local boutique (similar here, here, and here)
-striped top (similar here, here, and here)
-white culottes (similar here, here, and here)
-linen blazer (similar here, here, and here)
-sandals (similar here, here, and here)
Have you ever had any luck thrifting?

I’m utterly shocked that this is a thrift store outfit. Like, seriously, can I have your skills? I go into Goodwill and all I see are old prom dresses and gross sweaters hahah. I do not have the thrifting ability whatsoever!
Haha well thank you! And don’t worry, I’ve seen tons of prom dresses too haha!
I love thrifting but it definitely takes a lot of patience! I feel like you always manage to find the chicest pieces though – I love this effortlessly chic.casual look!
Well thanks so much! And I agree, patience really is the key. Sometimes I don’t find anything good!

Thanks so much!
You always have the best finds! I’m not much of a thrift shopper but you make me want to be! 😉 xo, Suzanne
Hehe well I’m glad I do 😉
I have always been a sharp dresser. I have people fooled. They think I pay a lot for my clothes. I thrift and wear Ann Taylor, Chico, Elle, Anne Klein, Banana Republic, etc… Name a name brand and I have it. Bought a beautiful pale pink Casual Corner wool coat for 7 bucks. Had it cleaned and pressed and it is to die for. I could shop department stores, but suddenly that doesn’t make sense to me anymore unless I am shopping for a great bra or an occasional designer purse. Everything else is thrifted.
That’s so awesome, Linda! I could see why you don’t want to shop department stores when you can get the same thing for way cheaper!
Yes, I actually would consider myself a connoisseur, and a loyal fan.
This is my guide while Thrifting
• go alone and with headphones
•Take your time and look at every aisle
•Look at all genders and don’t just go to your direct size section, every item varies size wise
• I would confidently say hit every thrift store within at least an hr. ( I make a whole day of thing shopping)
• save $ by going to local and not as well known stores, I find the chains tend to have higher prices. most less high profile ones offer specials depending on the color of the tag attached. && Also make friends with the staff, tends to help in a couple ways.
• oh, one more thing- get out of comfort zone. When I’m shopping usually end up with a cart filled with various items to the brim which brings up…..dressing rooms- If available I try everything on. ( I’m aware it’s a no-go for a few) – Guarantees the fit, color and reviews the entire garment.
It’s my me time, ?
These are fabulous ideas, Kelsie! Thank you for sharing them. I’m sure anyone that reads this comment will benefit greatly!
