Even if the calendar says it’s spring, you and I both know that it takes a while for the weather to get the memo. And though we want more than anything to break out our floral dresses and stylish slides, practicality demands something different. Thankfully, you can dress in a way that is both warm and practical, without feeling like you’re stuck in winter. Here are 2 outfit ideas to get you started!

1. striped sweater + light wash jeans + loafers + canvas striped bag + gold hoops

Sometimes the weather just calls for jeans. But that’s no problem because when you have light-washed jeans, your outfit seems a lot more spring-appropriate instantly.

Give your black and darker-hued jeans a break for something that is light blue or white, relaxed, and slightly vintage for a nice casual spring feel.

And though stripes are a year-round print, there’s just something about this print in the warmer months. A striped sweater that is mostly white (not black) is very fresh, very classic, and very nautical.

A canvas tote adds that warm weather element and so does showing just a little bit of ankle with loafers.

2. collared sweater + jeans + mule slides

Are you catching the transitioning to spring outfit pattern so far? Light-washed jeans paired with a light-colored sweater have the warmth of fall/winter fashion, but they look like spring.

That’s the key! Swapping out your winter pieces for a spring equivalent until the weather warms up even more. Another key is showing just a little bit of ankle. Not only are loafers a good way to do that, but mule slides are too!
